Intrigued by my Italian immigrant parents' unknown past, I convinced my father to tape some of his anecdotes. The story I discovered in his five tapes was such an amazing adventure that I turned it into a book series. I published book one - Innocent War (Hollywood Book Festival 2009 Honorable Mention) in April 2009. Learning about my parents' lives as children, surviving bombardments in Italy during WWII as well as what they went through trying to rebuild their lives from rubble, changed my relationship with them and my life.
