Mergers and Acquisitions—Will They Help Fuel the Bull Market Recovery? M&A Expert Speaks Out
The answer is yes. “Merger-and-acquisitions activity is gathering steam, and that bodes well for the stock market,” says Tom Taulli, in a recent issue of Business Week. Taulli, author of The Complete M&A Handbook, says technology companies are the most likely area for the next wave of mergers and acquisitions. These firms suffered the most during the prolonged bear market, according to Taulli, “yet many of these companies have large amounts of cash, more streamlined operations, and are more profitable.” Taulli, a widely recognized expert in areas of high finance, is also the author of six other books, including Investing in IPO’s. He is a frequent contributor to CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg TV, the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, and numerous other broadcast companies and print publications. He recently founded MergerForum.com, a web site that helps companies large and small negotiate the often times perilous path to mergers and acquisitions. In addition, he teaches a Mergers & Acquisitions course at the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
